Much Ado About Drama
So I was at the pool the other night with some friends and we were hanging out in the hot tub. I was listening to my friends talk about this and that, when one of the girls starts talking about another girl that they knew, who apparently was not there with us. They went on to talk about how this girl was a slut and a whore. So I was thinking about this later, and I want to know why there is so much drama bullshit going around in this small world of ours. Why do so many people sit there and deal with it, without really dealing with it.....it's like "Drama Hour" is a national pass time these days; people just soak it in and feed off of it. It's like a drug that is contagious and addictive.
The question is, why do I put up with drama in my own life? I got ex-girlfriends who create drama simply by opening their mouths and spitting out lies, in which are so blatantly obvious that I have to take a step back and actually ask myself if they realize how easy it is for me to see right through them. Then I got this slut whore who keeps calling me about her boyfriend troubles, like I give a shit. How much does it take before someone decides that they aren't going to buy into the bullshit anymore?
Where I work, on average, hundreds of beautiful women walk through the door to come and eat. These women walk with an air about them that just screams "Drama!!!", and this attitude generates from them in their tan skin and their bright make-up and their expensive Abercrombie and Hollister clothes. And then I see the guys that walk into my restaraunt with them. Even worse. Could these guys be any more feminine in nature, yet try to cover it with a tough, preppy masculine front? I think not. Think back on those cheezy, sappy high-budget soap operas, like "Beverly Hills 90210", and "Party of Five", which we so happily passed off as insignificant remnants of the 90's. Did anyone ever consider that maybe, this past mundane, drama-consumed television trash, has infact defined who we are in this new milennium..... Damn.
